HUD Publishes Notice of Funding For Section 811 FY 2026

HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing Programs released the following announcement on May 15, 2026:

HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing Programs has published the Fiscal Year 2026 Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) on May 11, 2026.

This NOFO makes $158 million available to state housing and other eligible agencies to provide project-based rental assistance that expands affordable housing options for extremely low-income persons with disabilities. The funding supports housing with voluntary supportive services that help individuals live independently in their communities. These funds cover the difference between what extremely low-income tenants with disabilities can afford and the HUD-approved rent, ensuring long-term housing stability for eligible residents.

This funding opportunity increases integrated, community-based housing options for extremely low-income adults with disabilities and strengthens the state-level partnerships needed to support long-term success. The deadline to apply is July 13, 2026.

You can find more about this funding opportunity through the program portal linked here.
